Designing for Emotion
This was a very interesting read. To jump right in and answer the questions:
1. I actually had mixed feelings about the read. On one hand, I absolutely agree with several of the points made about emotion. It was discussed how emotional memories, in a sense, are better recalled or stick with you better than ones that don’t have a strong emotional connection to you. I believe a simple concept like that is fairly easy to understand and I think a lot of people would agree with that idea.
2. Though on the other hand, while I am a firm believer in addressing one’s emotions and using them for decision making, I definitely don’t take it as far as the text states. I believe that sometimes it is best to take the emotion out of your work and interactions, and that it is often necessary to accomplish a goal, depending on the situation of course.
