Designing for Emotion

I chose the chapter from Designed for Emotion titled Overcoming Obstacles (Chapter 5). It talked about how intuition drives most of the decisions that we make everyday. The shirt you are wearing today was picked by you because “you felt like it.” I somewhat agree and disagree with this, because I just looked down at the shirt I’m wearing and its my work shirt. I DEFINITELY did not pick the shirt I’m wearing because I felt like it. I have to wear this particular shirt to work, but I understand the point that he is trying to make.

I do agree that a lot of decisions are made on instinct choices, like the candy bar aisle at target, you can’t help but just look and buy one candy bar for $1.

I do agree that skepticism and laziness are major obstacles to overcome, especially in todays world. Many people are used to instant gratification.  Apathy is also worse. The book says that you must keep your content interesting for your users.
