Designing for Emotion
I read chapter 7 of Designing for Emotion titled Risk and Reward. I agreed that sometimes designing for emotion can be risking in someways because you have to be a aware of your audience. However, I disagreed with how dramatic the chapter mad it sound. Designing for not only emotion but designing for anything can be risky if you don’t understand the demographic who you are trying to reach and engage with. I think that as long as you understand your target audience and who you want to effectively reach them then the less risky the design may be.
I did like in the book how it mentioned that one way to better understand you demographic was through creating personas. Through creating personas, this is a really great way to establish for yourself exactly who your target audience is in order to make designs that are specifically conveyed and understood by that audience.
