Designing for Emotion, C H A P T E R O N E
I am loving this book so far. Ever since I ordered it I have been anxious to read it. I believe that it not only provided great insight to design but also life itself.
“There’s a very practical reason that emotion and memory are so closely coupled, it keeps us alive.”
That was perhaps my favorite line in the whole chapter. There were so many truths hidden in practical examples. I worked in Basecamp in my internship this past summer and work in Wufoo almost daily with various on campus organizations. After working with both programs I truly understand the writer’s emphasis placed on functionality. I agree that the interface must be functional above all else. I found myself agreeing with every principle outlined in the chapter, maybe that is just because I take his expert word for it all? I’m looking forward to chapter two.
