Designing for Emotion: CH 1

In the beginning of the chapter, the author explains how a revolution of industry took over and the idea of craftsmanship was left behind. Machines were doing the work in order to increase production and lower cost. However, the Arts and Crafts movement was created to restore interest and recognize the value of craftsmanship.

“craftsman leave a bit of themselves in their work, a true gift that can be enjoyed for many years.”

Excerpt From: Aarron Walter. “Designing for Emotion.” iBooks.

I like the reference the author made to websites like Easy and Kickstarter for consumers that want to purchase items from an independent craftsman. This allows consumers to support real artists and craftman instead of making corporations even more richer.

I couldn’t really find anything I didn’t agree with the author. I almost said yes to the question of the nutritional value of the best meal I’ve ever had but that would be a lie.
