Designing for Emotion Ch. 4
In chapter 4 of Designing for Emotion, the author uses Photojojo’s website as an example of emotional design. I agree when he says that “the more Photojojo encourages movement, the more products will be seen, and that helps keep sales rolling in.” Emotional design is important when creating a website, because it encourages viewers to come back to the site. Along with that, I agree that anticipation shapes emotion as well. “Though surprise can help users by compressing emotion into a split-second reaction, anticipation—surprise’s temporal opposite—can also shape emotional engagement.” Just like all the other chapters I have read so far, there wasn’t anything I disagreed with. I fully stand by the fact that emotion is the backbone of having users come back for more, whatever the product or social media platform is.
