Designing for Emotion: Ch. 4

After reading Chapter Four I’d have to say that I definitely agree that designing should be a surprise to the audience. Designing for emotion entices all the emotions, with surprise being the biggest of the emotions in my opinion. I think that when people are surprised, in a good way, they are easily enticed to buy whatever product is associated with that design which evokes surprise.

However, one thing I disagreed with in Chapter Four was that audiences should be primed for whatever the design represents. I think that designs should be good enough that you do not need to prime your audience. Your designs should speak for themselves.
