Designing for Emotion Ch. II
So this week, we were assigned to read Designing for Emotion, Chapter Two. In this chapter, we are told that humans are kinda complex creatures and that there is a tie between the design of things and human appeal (obviously). This is obviously important because it explains how when designing things, it is helpful to keep in mind what your target audience likes.
One thing in this chapter that I didn’t necessarily agree with is that when it talks about design not following a distinct grid. I don’t agree with this based on the fact that there are things that most designs incorporate. The whole purpose of a design to appeal to someone, and in order to do that, there is a list of criteria that needs to be met.
However, one thing that I did like was when it talked about humans project themselves into things that we see. Everyone is drawn to different things and a lot of that is based on who they are as a person. I just think that that is a excellent point that can apply to all different aspects of life, and not just design.
