Designing for Emotion Chapter 2
This week in PR Publications, Lesson 3.2 we were asked to read Chapter 2 in Designing for Emotion.
One statement that I did not agree with was on page 25, “Attractive things work better.” When something is brand new and shiny, you think that it is going to be so much better than what you previously had. However, this is not always the case. For example, my mom has had the same car for almost ten years and has never had any car trouble. The second my dad goes out and gets her a brand new car, she has taken it to the shop twice in the same year already. Sometimes technology is the same way. All the new “attractive” apps and technology are said to work perfectly and efficiently, however most of these attractive technologies also come along with many glitches and bugs as well.
One statement that I agreed with was on page 20, “Our brains constantly scan for patterns in our environment to form insights and keep us from harm.” I agree with this statement because my mind is truly always searching for patterns and connections in order to make sense of the world.
