Designing for Emotion- Chapter 2

In my PR Publications class we are reading Designing for Emotion. In reading chapter 2 this week, Designing for Humans, we learn that humans are complex. Well, we knew that. But in this chapter it expresses the one common thing that is common to all humans that being, “We’re born ready to express pain, joy, surprise, anger, and other emotions. It is how we communicate our needs…” I completely agree with this. I also agree with humans using contrast to answer “Is it good for me or bad for me?” and how contrast is used in design.

I dont necessarily agree that everyone is hard wired to love babies. I mean I love them and probably most people think they’re cute BUT I don’t think that should always be used as a design principle.
