Designing for Emotion Chapter 3
Chapter three of Designing for Emotion, our required reading for Public Relations Public, detailed the importance and effectiveness of personality in design. One part of this chapter I agreed with and thought was very powerful was that our main human reaction between relating emotion and design was developed at birth. Every since we were born, certain things such as colors have been linked to certain emotions, such as yellow symbolizing happiness and joy. When designing something, if the color yellow is used humans will naturally link that to happy emotions.
One thing I disagreed with was when the author compared humans and objects in order to compare and complete reflective design. Though it might a successful strategy, I think these things have to many differences to be able to be successfully compared.
