Designing for Emotion: Chapter 3
“Our lasting relationships center around the unique qualities and perspectives we all possess. We call it personality.”
I believe the quote above emulates chapter three, which explains the concept of using personality to influence the public decision-making process and how it is the platform for emotion. I agreed with using emotional designs as the main goal to achieve human-to-human communication. By making personalities standout from within the computer by using jokes, tone of voice and inspired conversations to target out preferred audiences and help professionals research, plan and create audiences attitudes.
I did disagree with the “products are people, too” comment. I believe that todays technology can radiate personality through peoples writing that can be found on computers. But I would never consider technology as people, that is truly one of my worst fears. Haven’t we seen Eagle Eye, Untraceable or even Transformers? Anyway… technology seems cold and lifeless, not humanlike and personal. Apps and computers can have faces through interaction but we will only find computers glimpse of personality through human design.
