Designing for Emotion: Chapter 5
I read Chapter 5: Overcoming Obstacles in Designing for Emotions. This chapter was about the issues that designers often face with their consumers and audiences and how we can overcome them in order to gain consumers trust and ultimately their business.
One thing that I agreed with from this chapter was the fact that the most dangerous thing you can face as a designer is a consumer who is apathetic. It is our job to make the content that we present appealing and relevant to our audience, and if our audience doesn’t care about what we’re presenting them with, we need to readjust.
One thing I didn’t agree with is the fact that appearance is everything. I do agree that a professional and memorable design will go a long way, but it won’t get you everywhere. Your product needs to also be good to match your website or design.
