Designing for Emotion: Chapter 6

BY: Garrett Voss

In this chapter, the book talks about forgiveness and what to do when things go wrong. It explains how perfection should not be a primary objective and overall goal when designing, it should, however, be treated as a positive experience. I agree with this outlook, because if perfection were a destination (in design) that everyone could reach there wouldn’t be anything special about designing something. Part of what makes a great design so great and a bad design so terrible is the positive learning process the designer goes through to create their “great” design.

Once again, I take everything I read in the book and agree with it because I don’t know any better.  I am very naive about the world of design, so basically I don’t disagree with anything in the chapter. Honestly, it is the only textbook I’ve enjoyed reading.
