Designing for Emotion Chapter 7 Reflection

I decided to read Chapter 7 of Designing for Emotion because the title really stuck out to me- Risk & Reward. I can’t help but relate this to this class! Each design project that I completed was a risk. Would Professor Croom like it? Would I like it? Was it effective? Did it meet the requirements for the assignment?

This chapter basically described how emotional designs are a risk, but if it is successful the reward is much greater than the risk. I definitely agree with that. In my personal life, I’ve found this ideology to be very successful. One thing that I disagree with is asking for site or publication revisions before having actual ideas of what you want the site or publication to look like. I think if you’re going to go forward and ask for a change, you might as well present ideas of what you want.

Reading Designing for Emotion had me think about some things differently and it really broadened my design skills and awareness!
