Designing for Emotion chp 3

Personality is a subject with which I am very familiar. My dad always jokes that I have enough personality for 3 people. I think that the type of personality in chapter three is not quite the same as what my dad is talking about. In design, especially that which is completely digital, it is important to make users feel like there is a person on the other end, not a mass of digital nothingness.

I really like the section about creating personas. i think that letting your own personality show through through writing and design, even in something as s simple as a resume, can make a huge difference in how you are perceived. When you look at celebrities that have created an empire completely branding themselves online, India Love for example, that’s all their doing is creating an online persona using design and aesthetic.

I don’t really disagree with anything in this chapter, but I think he could have used better examples for building personality on a website. I really didn’t care for the whole mail chimp thing.
