Designing for Humans

In the second chapter of the book I am reading for my Public Relations Publications course the author Arron Walter discusses how emotions play a part in our designs. One thing from this chapter that I agree with is that contrast is extremely important when designing almost any type of publication. Cognitive contrast will help a brand or publication hit their target audience and set themselves apart from their competitors. One thing from this chapter that I did not like was the discussions about attractiveness makes people feel good. Yes I agree sometimes attractiveness might sometimes make people feel good, it is not the only thing that sets someone apart from the rest. Interesting stories, sad stories and other elements of emotion making a publications design just as if not more interesting than just the fact that it is considered attractive.
