Direct Mailer Drafts

In this lesson in my PR Publications we are continuing to design direct mailers through OU recruitment services. I wanted to target students with a  desire to belong and get involved on campus and with OU traditions. My first mailer shows a picture from camp crimson, a camp new students attend during the summer. I wanted to show this in my design because it is the first moment that students really feel as if they are a part of the Sooner family. In my second design I used a photograph from an OU football game because that is something that many students look forward to their freshman year. I want perspective students to see these images and be excited to attend The University of Oklahoma. My first target audience influenced my second because I wanted to choose two groups of people who both would get excited from getting these pictures in the mail.

When making this design I changed out the fonts and the pictures before finding the perfect one. I am excited to hear back from my teacher and classmates to start making more changes to perfect my design.

I think the biggest difference, and the most confusing thing for me, between Photoshop and InDesign is the pointers. In photoshop there is just one and in InDesign there are two. Layers in photoshop can also become confusing if you don’t keep them organized.
