Direct Mailer Reflection

After defining both of my stakeholders, I now have two first drafts of direct mailer designs. My first stakeholder was high school juniors and seniors who have shown interest in OU or have already applied with qualifying ACT/SAT scores who were involved in high school. My second stakeholder were alumni parents with high school juniors and seniors. I tailored the messaging to fit each of these stakeholders. For the first stakeholders, I wanted to express the involvement opportunities on OU. They already have shown interest in OU, so they know what a great school it is and maybe have visited. They might not be aware of this other great aspect of being a student at OU– the student life.  For my second stakeholder, I tailored my messaging to be towards continuing the tradition and making their family a part of the sooner family.

Here is the first draft for my first stakeholder:

I found these assignments a little more challenging to begin with. After becoming so familiar with using InDesign, coming back to Photoshop was a little rough at first. Figuring out how to use the different layers and how they all work took some relearning. I think my first stakeholder draft could use some more work for sure, but I finally had to just leave it alone to start on my second stakeholder draft. My second stakeholder design took a little more time than I anticipated, but I wanted to make it look a lot better than the first. I’ll be glad for next week when I can get some more time to “perfect” these designs. Or at least get myself to be more satisfied with them.
