Direct Mailer Reflection
The past couple weeks we have been working on direct mailers in my PR Publications class. We selected 2 specific stakeholder groups and designed for them. This week has been very difficult for me but rewarding at the same time. for most of the weeks working on this project I made little to no progress day to day. Just because I had literally no idea how to do anything at all. I actually decided to start my project completely over on Tuesday and basically raced to the finish line to get them done. Finally, I sat down with a friend and she gave me enough moral support to help me through. I can actually do some stuff now. So initially, I was in shock and didn’t take to this project well, but in the end I’m pretty satisfied with my work.
I feel way more confident with Photoshop then when I began this project but I definitely wont be volunteering to make any more direct mailers anytime soon. That’s for sure. InDesign seems a lot more user friendly to me than Photoshop. The layers in Photoshop just make you have to think a lot harder. I probably wouldn’t do a whole lot differently if I started over considering I think the trial and error I went through would have happened either way.
