direct mailer reflection

For our direct mailer assignment, we were asked to pick two different stakeholders that somehow were dependent on one another and then create a publication for each stakeholder for OU recruitment services. I chose prospective students with alumni parents as my first stakeholder and alumni with kids who are prospective students as my second stakeholder. Obviously, these two stakeholders are intimately related, so creating two different publications for them was fun. Both of the publications are similar, yet they are tailored to their specific audience.

For my first stakeholder this is the publication that I came up with:

direct mailer reflection

And for my second stakeholder:

direct mailer reflection

Creating both of these in PhotoShop was frustrating at first because after using InDesign for the last project, I basically forgot everything about PhotoShop. After some relearning, however, it was obvious that PhotoShop was the right program to use for this project and I enjoyed being able to work more with photos and manipulate them so that they look the way I want them to. InDesign is easier for me to grasp sometimes because it is not a layer-based program like PhotoShop is, but I was able to see the differences between the programs and why they are both beneficial in creating publications.
