Direct Mailer Reflection
This week we were asked to reflected on how are design steps are going in creating two separate direct mailers in photoshop for potential students at the University of Oklahoma. This project has definitely been frustrating for me learning to use photoshop more than I already knew how.
Defining the initial stakeholder was not too hard for me because there are many different people who could be a stakeholder but I chose one that was quite similar to who I am. I think defining the first stakeholder made defining a second stakeholder so so so much easier. It was not nearly as difficult the second time around to think of someone who influences the first stakeholder.
I think my designs are constantly changing in my mind but maybe not as much as they do on actual paper. There are a few things that I am looking to change before turning in my final draft that I am not so happy with. I think my overall design goal is to keep things clean, simple and easy to read. Simplicity speaks to me more than an overloaded design.
I think that there are ton of similarities between Photoshop and InDesign. The tools on the sidebars have been the most closely related. I also think that using InDesign has prepped my nerves for using Photoshop. So feeling that I was successful in using InDesign some of my fears and frustrations from Photoshop have been eased a little bit. I also think that there are more design elements to be used on Photoshop but I am not too skilled yet. Maybe by the end of the semester I will have Photoshop and InDesign down. As for now I am still sticking by InDesign just because that is where I feel most comfortable in my designs to date.
Embedded Images will come shortly (having a few technical difficulties)
