Direct Mailer Rough Drafts & Reflection
Before Spring Break, we completed our first draft of our first direct mailer, which can be found by clicking here. There you can also find background information on the assignment!
This week we completed our first draft of our second direct mailer, which is below.

My first stakeholder was high school seniors, already accepted to OU, in band during some or all of high school and my second stakeholder was their parents/guardians.
I chose this second stakeholder because parents are usually invested in their children’s lives and want them to flourish in the college environment. This is also why I chose the wording/facts placed in the second direct mailer. The parent’s worries could be something that can be extinguished with this mailer once they see that students in the band are not all music majors and still maintain good GPAs while being involved and making new, close friendships automatically.
My designs have stayed similar since the last draft because I wanted to wait awhile after creating the second one to clear my mind and come back to it after letting them sit for a few days.
I enjoy using Photoshop more than InDesign. I think it’s because I’m more familiar with Photoshop, but I feel more creative and as if I have more freedom when utilizing it. InDesign seems more strict and limited, but that could be because I’m not too acquainted with it yet.
I can’t wait to edit these designs into a final draft!
