Favorite Place
The University of Oklahoma’s Norman campus, in my biased opinion, is rich in education, beauty, and tradition. From the warm, red brick buildings to the faces of diversity that fill those buildings, the University of Oklahoma is vibrantly picturesque to say the least. Students from all around the world attend the University of Oklahoma in order to have the honorary title of being a Sooner. We students work tirelessly, inside and outside of the classroom, in order to uphold the values of our prestigious university. We commit ourselves to our education, extracurricular activities, and community involvement while attempting to maintain a social life. While proud Sooners and our campus look beautiful seven days a week, OU’s true colors are truly displayed on game day Saturdays. Students, faculty, alumni, and fans unite through wearing the crimson and cream and belting the Boomer Sooner chants. That is why my undisputed favorite place on campus is the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. It is striking on its own, but when it is filled with die hard fans who live for game time in Norman, it is magnetic. Sooners cannot help but enjoy themselves from inside the stadium while cheering on their beloved team and being surrounded by great people. From the intro video, which never fails to send chills down my spine, to the sharp sound of Rufneks firing shotguns, the football stadium is home to some of OU’s most cherished traditions. I look forward to game days in Norman and visiting my favorite spot on campus. Boomer!
