Final Apple Newsletter & Reflection

I cannot believe this semester is almost over, and we are almost done with PR Pubs. Where has time gone?! For our fourth design project, we were asked to create a newsletter for our Fortune 500 company of choice. The reason that I chose Apple to be my client for this project was honestly because I am such a big time, loyal Apple fan. I thought designing a newsletter for Apple was super fun, yet challenging at some points. Finding the content and news articles to embed into my newsletter was definitely my favorite part of this project because it enabled me to get up to date on all of Apple’s new products! The most challenging part about designing the newsletter and working with InDesign was aligning all the stories correctly to make sure the newsletter looks professional and clean. Overall, I am very happy about my final draft of this project because I worked very hard on organizing and designing the layout to make it look like it had been professionally done by Apple.

My target public for this completed newsletter is Apple’s external publics because my newsletter has all the latest updates, information and new products for a variety of Apple consumers. All of the news articles that I chose to include inside of my newsletter will give each of these external publics and consumers an up to date taste of what’s “hot” with Apple’s new products and ideas. I chose one of their previous logos, the stainless-steel silver logo, to use as a starting point for my design. After embedding this into my newsletter, I chose to use color swatches that would contrast great with this logo. I think the blue, black, gray and silver typography all work great together. I think my font sizes all work well together through the newsletter. Each different article can be easily differentiated from one another. I made sure that my headlines were bigger than my decks and my decks were bigger than my body copy for every article.

Here’s my final Apple Newsletter:
