Final Business Card and Letterhead Reflection

It’s hard to believe this assignment is actually complete! This week was the final opportunity for us to finalize our business card and letterhead for the company we chose to research. In the beginning, I was very nervous that my lack of experience with InDesign would hinder the success I had on this assignment. However, after spending time learning and practicing the art of InDesign, I am very pleased with how my business card and letterhead turned out. I feel so good about the design, that I feel confident using the business card if I were to get a job at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

After finishing this assignment, I am feeling so much more confident with my abilities to use InDesign. When we are given are next assignment, I will feel much more confident when beginning the assignment rather than feeling anxious and overwhelmed. One thing I believe that helped me complete this assignment was not to just guess how to do things. Instead of spending a lot of time trying different things to see if they would work, I would look up exactly how to do something which made designing a lot easier.

If I were to give any advice to a future student who was about to embark on this assignment it would be to not freak out and really spend time learning how to operate InDesign before you start the assignment. If you learn InDesign first, then completing the business card and letterhead will be a lot easier.
