Final Draft Reflection
Over the past three weeks I have accomplished so much in my PR Pubs class. I have researched a company and I chose to research Golin a global PR agency and compare it to its competitors. I have designed a letterhead and business card and revised both drafts. I have received feedback from not only my classmates but also from my professor. I pitched the design to my fellow classmates through a 3 minute pitch video on YouTube.
I enjoyed the process of designing and editing the business card and letterhead. I have never made either before in my life so it was all very new to me. There were certain things that I was unaware of like alignment on the letterhead. Thankfully we received feedback from our classmates and professors that helped me in areas I didn’t realize were wrong.
I had a lot of fun with this assignment. At the beginning I was a little overwhelmed thinking I had no idea how to do a letterhead and business card. The lynda videos and our professor videos were very helpful and made things clear in the InDesign world. I honestly had no idea how much work went into both design assignments until doing them on my own.
I definitely feel more confident with the skills I am acquiring from InDesign. I have explained on earlier blogs that I had no idea how to work InDesign before taking this PR publications class. I am becoming more and more familiar with the set up every time I work on InDesign and I learn something new every day.
Future advice for students taking this class in the future is to not get overwhelmed when the boot camp starts. Everything is on there for you to learn and grow within InDesign and Photoshop. I am very thankful for having the tutorials even though there were so many of them. They all helped me build skills in the Adobe software that I had no idea how to use. After you pass the boot camp stage, it become fun and exciting getting to design something of your own.
Here are my final images of my letterhead and business card.
