Final Draft Reflection
After a couple of weeks working on this project, I am happy to be finished and somewhat satisfied with my end product. There are some things that I wish I could change or small aspects that I wish I knew how to fix, but overall, I’m happy with my first attempt at a professional publication. I am a perfectionist, so I think that I will always feel like there is something else I can do to a project, but for the purposes of this class, I think I completed what I needed to.
I would love to show my final publications to the organization that I chose, Camp Cho-Yeh, however, I decided to not use their logo for my design, so the likelihood of them using it for anything professional is slim. This project definitely made me more confident in my abilities to use InDesign and PhotoShop and forced me to play around with things or look things up in order to accomplish tasks that I wanted to be done. If I were to do this project over again, I might play around more with colors and graphics, but considering my experience in graphic design is almost non-existent, that would take a lot more time for me to figure out. I would recommend not being satisfied with your first draft to future students. Appreciate your efforts, but be critical of it. I changed a million things on my designs over the course of two weeks, so it is not a process that should be rushed. When I started to get frustrated, I would take some time away from (at least a day or so) and then come back to it with fresh eyes and found that most of the time was able to capture what I wanted.
