FINAL REFLECTION POST!!!
For our final project in PR Publications we were asked to design something that was a summary of our learning. I originally intended to do a video of some sort (I wasn’t entirely sure what exactly), but it just didn’t feel right after all I had learned this semester. I wanted to do something that showed my growth and progress in design. I ended up designing an infographic on Canva, a website I have grown to love and will definitely continue to use after publications is over. It was hard for me to sum up everything I had learned in such a small space, so I just included the major points. I made the infographic with the audience of incoming PR Publication students in mind. It was interesting that I consciously thought of my audience before I even began designing, and it is definitely a skill I have picked up from pubs. It was a weird to make a screencast explaining my creation, no one likes hearing their voice on recording, but it probably made a lot more sense as to why I did things the way I did and what my different graphics meant. Overall I was happy to end the course with something I was familiar with because it just reiterated how much I have learned in this class in a relatively short time. Having a basic understanding and skill set in Photoshop, InDesign, and just design in general has already helped me get an internship and I can’t imagine what else it will bring. I hope my summary of learning well reflects that, as well as gives some tips to future PR Publications students.
