First Design Reflection

When this course began, we were introduced to all new programs and tools that will help in telling the stories of our clients. At first, the though of a business card and letterhead seems like a piece of cake. However, we learned that a lot of though must go into a really good design. We conducted research and analyzed our competition before we began designing.

The research, however, was nothing compared to the trouble I had with actually getting the design how I wanted it. In the end, I am okay with the outcome. It just takes time to get there, especially when you aren’t very familiar with the programs.

Through this project, I was able to gain a much better understanding of Indesign and Photoshop. I am now able to make the background of an image transparent, change the color of the image and apply special effects. All this in addition to using the design elements we discussed early in the course, like alignment and color.

My final reaction to my design is positive. I like what I came up with, and maybe I will pitch the idea to the organization.
