Business-Card-Mission-Norman.jpg

first draft

This week for PR Publications we were instructed to create the first draft for our organization’s business card. We had to utilize InDesign to create the business card. The class was trained in InDesign, so I felt relatively confident when told of the assignment. But, creating something from scratch is completely different then receiving personal instruction in class.

I saw the blank business card template and did not know where to begin. I had to look to other business cards for inspiration. The Pinterest boards I created became very useful as a resources to mimic my business cards after. I think the work I did is good for a first draft but definitely needs improvement. InDesign is hard! I do not think the “community and service” feel I planned to incorporate came across in this first draft. I like the idea of the cross with “Mission Norman” but need to make some major modifications. I was proud of what I did since InDesign is completely new to me. I think I have reacted in this way because even if I create something on InDesign that is “mediocre” work, I am still testing out the software so to me anything I create is a step in the right direction.

Practice, practice, practice is so true when it comes to becoming an InDeisgn connoisseur.

Here is the first (rough) draft of my business card for Mission Norman:
