For The Kids
In my PR Publications class, we were given an assignment to chose a company and create a business card and letterhead for them. I chose to do this assignment on the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, an organization that is close to my heart. I am a part of the executive team for Soonerthon, OU’s largest student-led philanthropy that raises money for our Miracle Hospital in OKC. In order to accomplish this, I researched and analyzed this company’s resources, processes and overall values.
Mission: We increase funds and awareness for local children’s hospitals
Vision: Together we save kids’ lives
I wouldn’t consider the Children’s Miracle Network having any “competitors” in the sense that they are taking customers (patients) away from them, but they are a nonprofit organization that helps children and there’s plenty of organizations with the same ideals. Make A Wish, March of Dimes, or any children’s hospital is trying to do the same thing as these hospitals are.
According to their website, since 1983 they have raised more than $5 billion dollars for 170 hospitals across the United States and Canada. Donations go towards research and training, equipment and paying for uncompensated care. They strive to save and improve lives of as many children as they can.
