Greetings All!
My name is Cameron Morgan. I am a junior double-majoring in Public Relations and Ballet Performance. In today’s post, I will attempt to choose my favorite place on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. Choosing my favorite place on campus proved to be more challenging than I thought it would be. I would love to say that the couch on the left side of the main staircase in the Gaylord Building is my favorite place – I’ve spent several afternoons napping there – but it’s not. In fact, my favorite place on campus is the real reason I’m at OU. It’s RPAC 3002, the large ballet studio on the third floor of the Reynolds Performing Arts Center. This space and the learning and activity that it contains is why I decided to attend OU as a ballet performance major. There’s nothing too special about this room that separates it from any other studio: grey floors, white walls, ballet barres. It has tall ceilings with stage lights hung from it, surround-sound and a black grand piano. What makes this place my favorite is the amount of my time, blood, sweat and tears that this room has absorbed from me. It’s not always a pleasant space (sometimes it’s quite painful), but there’s no place I’d rather be.
