Language Diversity

Hello “classmate”, you make a good point in regards to communication being more simple if there were less languages. However, if everybody around the world spoke the same language, would things still be as exciting? Would you still get that tingling feeling of traveling half way across the world to a country you’ve never been to before and set out on an adventure?

The thought of being in unknown territory without a common language might sound terryfying to some but this is an opportunity to fully indulge oneself in the culture and your surroundings.

From past personal experience, being in a completely foreign country where no one speaks a tad bit of english was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The locals were very welcoming and enjoyed having visiting foreigners to their country. Likewise, they appreciated our culture and our language as well.

Last but not least, language diversity opens the door to more knowledge and gives people from different countries a sense of originality and “uniqueness” that can’t be attained if we all speak the same language.

These thoughts are merely the tip of the iceberg, there is so much more to tell and appreciate but would take me days of writing to fully get my point across.
