Last Post Ever- Summary of learning
This is my last blog post for my PR Pubs class! It is both a sad and joyous time! This year I have learned so much about PR and the different areas that go into it. I never thought that I would be able to do things within indesign and photoshop, but as the year has gone on I have found out that not only can I do a lot with Adobe, but I actually enjoy working with it. PR Pubs has helped me widen my skills and that will hopefully make me a better intern and employee. I think it is important to be constantly looking for new skills.
For my summary of learning I deduced to do a timeline, because I felt like it was the perfect medium to show my growth throughout the class. The timeline allowed me to show you each step of my lessons and what their final product was. This timeline represents my work and growth throughout the class as well as my creativity. I tried to make the timeline fun and as interactive as possible. Each of the pieces on my timeline have also been placed with a descriptor in my portfolio (see top of the page) for those of you who would like a closer look into what I have created.
I have seen myself grow as a designer and as a PR student. While we did not get to practice formal writing in this class, we did get to experience how to write a blog post and how to infuse voice and tone to reflect who we are. This is imperative to learn, especially if a company asks you to blog for them. I have always wanted to blog, so this class was a huge asset for not only teaching me how, but also allowing me the room to have fun and be creative. I have enjoyed my time in this class and I am sad that it is coming to an end. For all of you out there who think you can’t do something TRY! You never know what you might love or what you might be talented at. Don’t be afraid to START OVER, the light bulb wasn’t designed on the first try and it is okay to keep trying again! You will create something amazing if you don’t limit yourself to perfection on the first try! You rock, remember that! Well this has been an amazing year and I have gotten to work with some amazing people. Thanks for all your feedback and I am excited to show you wants next!
