lesson 7/8 pr writing
This week in PR writing we talked a lot about how to pitch to different media outlets. In lesson 7 we covered what a media advisory was and how it is a good way to get media coverage of new conferences etc. A media advisory shows a sense of urgency to the media outlets you are trying to get attention from. When writing a news advisory you must use the 5 W’s and an H that we have talked about in class. They are used to encourage the media to come and cover events. The opportunity for a follow-up comes with the feature pitch which we talked about in lesson 8. Features are what engage us with human interest stories that help us engage with others. They provide facts about an organization that are important to the media and the public.
