Lesson 9 Reflection
Our second design project for my PR Publications class was to create a direct mailer for two different stakeholders. This time we used PhotoShop instead of InDesign, which took some getting used too!
When I first read about our project, I thought it would be simple. I knew it would entail creativity but I wasn’t worried about that aspect. I began to fill out the stakeholder matrix, which I felt helped pinpoint exactly who I wanted my target audience to be. I decided to choose future Oklahoma Sooners who were females, around the age of 18 or just graduated high school and trying to convince them to register for Formal Recruitment. My second stakeholder was the parents of those who have registered. I felt this was a good pair because I was in these girls shoes at one point in time. Since I have gone through Formal Recruitment, I felt like I knew what I would want to see delivered to my house regarding the process.
I was pretty pleased with my design. I’m not going to lie, PhotoShop is a lot more difficult than InDesign. That’s just me though. This project took a lot more time and effort, however I felt better about the completed design. I don’t think there is anything I would do differently if I had to start over. I am so much more confident with PhotoShop, however I still get confused with some of the tools. I’m proud of myself and pleased with my design!
