Letterhead First Draft

In my Public Relations Publications course, we designed a rough draft of a business card and this week we were to create a letterhead that correlated with the card.

I was excited to create the letterhead! Making something simple, yet creative, seemed fun.

This task took me less time than creating the business card and it was much less frustrating. However, it might be because I didn’t stretch myself as far creatively, though. But I’m also not sure how far creativity can go on a letterhead without being too much, especially for the organization I picked. Professionalism also goes a long way. I haven’t quite mastered creative professionalism yet.

However, I did like how my letterhead turned out!

In it I created a pseudo-note to a new volunteer to see how text would look on the actual layout.

While I didn’t use Canva to complete this assignment, I did take a look around on the website. It’s great for basic designs! Some limitations could be the images it provides. If you want to use your own, you have to edit them to how you would like them first. Also, some of the images cost money. It could also stunt creativity. With so many suggestions and options, instead of creating your own design, it’s easy to filter through pre-made ones. This can alter the design process and thinking a large amount. However, for a quick design, this app is great!
