Lexie Raitt

Hi everyone! My name is Lexie Raitt. I am a senior public relations major and psychology minor here at the University of Oklahoma. All of my immediate family (dad, mom and sister) attended OU making the college decision easy for me. I am from Austin, Texas so I was raised around individuality and creativity. I believe being unique and present is the key to happiness.

Norman and OU are home to me even though I am from Austin, home of the Texas Longhorns. When I was younger my parents would drive me and my sister to Norman for football games and I knew this was the school I wanted to attend. Now, being a senior, I have had my own experiences and memories here. One of my favorite places on campus is the Gaylord library. The open windows and quiet atmosphere allow me to think clearly and feel awake. Gaylord has offered me so many resources and opportunities to grow during my time at OU.

I chose public relations because I enjoy connecting with people and building relationships – especially in a global aspect. I have loved traveling for as long as I can remember. I am lucky in that I have family in multiple countries across the world, which has enabled me to gain a better understanding of people and the world in general. In the future, I plan to have a career that allows me to interact with people and travel more.

I am excited for this semester. I will be using this blog as a sort of reflection for the things I do and create during my PR publications course. I hope to advance my design skills and become more familiar with the InDesign software.
