Making a Difference

“100 years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, or the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”

This week at the 5th grade bible study I lead once a month, I asked my students to write down all the things and people that they are thankful for. A student forgot to take theirs home, so naturally I keep it. Curiosity always can get the best of someone, so naturally I pick up the card to see who that student is thankful for. Emotions hit when I realized that student had written my name on the card. I do not see this student every week, but do see this student at our monthly bible studies. The little time I have spent with this student has impacted their life enough for them to remember to write my name down when I ask them who they are thankful for.
