My Favorite Spot on OU’s Campus

I am a senior at OU which means I have spent the last 3 1/2 years of my life on this campus. During that time, my favorite place on campus has probably changed 3 times, a different favorite spot each year. Freshman year my favorite place to be on OU’s campus was the dorms. The dorms represented my new freedom and the exciting adventure that was starting. I loved being around all the other freshman knowing we were all in the same boat, new to college life and excited to create college memories. You never knew who you would see while walking into your tower or while visiting your friends in other towers. Sophomore year my favorite place to be was my sorority house. It was the first time I lived with 90 plus girls and all my new best friends (I know that sounds cheesy, but it is true). There was always someone to talk to, watch TV with, or just hangout with. We all got very close very quickly. Maybe because we all slept in the same room together. My sorority house has a sleeping porch which is a room with just bunk beds in it and all you do it go there to sleep. We had our own room we shared with 2 other girls that had our closet, desk, etc. but when it came time to sleep, we all slept in the sleeping porch (yes, it does look like a scene from an orphanage). My sorority house was my favorite spot that year because that is where I met all my dearest friends that I will have for the rest of my life. As I moved into my junior and senior year and started to become more concerned with school and the “real world”, my favorite spot became the Bizzell Library. The minute I walk into the library I feel like I can accomplish all the things I need to get done and that all the academic energy in there is going to help me do it. It’s peaceful, quiet, and has everything you need to successfully study (except maybe if it was open 24/7, I am a fan of all-nighters). I cannot study anywhere else on campus. Even though I have all these favorite places, I really just enjoy OU’s campus in general. I think it is so beautiful and has such a positive energy as you walk through it. I have been to many college campuses and OU’s is by far the most beautiful and unique.
