My Stakeholder

This week for my PR Publications class I am working on a project in which I will complete two direct mailers for OU Recruitment Services. My first task in this project is to think of a stakeholder that interests me.

I was involved with theatre in high school, but I didn’t see a lot of OU recruitment. I think it would be interesting to try and do a direct mailer to recruit high school students who are interested in pursuing theatre at the university level.

My stakeholder is a high school student, about 17-19 years of age, who is active in theatre and interested in pursuing it at a university level.

Theatre students are weird. There are no two ways about it. I know because I was one. That being said, I think some kind of fun recruitment tactic would appeal to these students. Something that really stands out from the hum drum theatre schools in this state. I toured the OU School of Theatre once and was impressed with the building and staff, but was surprised about how bland everything came off. I think a workshop would be a way to attract some attention. The workshop could consist of a tour, a few short classes, and maybe participants could get to see an OU performance at the end of the day.

I’ll see how this idea plays out in the rest of the assignment, but that would have been something that would have interested high school theatre geek me (see bald, Daddy Warbucks me below).
