Newsletter Reflection

This week we were supposed to complete our newsletters. I had already made a bit of progress, I found stories I wanted to use and had a draft laid out. The most difficult part of the assignment for me was finding images to include and formatting the text around the images so that there was not too much white space, but the newsletter did not look cramped.

This assignment has probably been one of the most difficult for me because it took me a long time to create a layout that I really liked. Even as I look at my final project, I am thinking of things I could change for future newsletters. I would probably try to make my stories more “horizontal” versus “vertical”, I think that would be easier to read and make it easier to include pictures.

As I designed this newsletter, I tried to focus on what my target audience wants to read and what they’re used to reading. Coca-Cola has a very “flowy” design, and I tried to find a swirl to incorporate on every page but I couldn’t find one (notes for the next newsletter). I also included stories that are very recent and in which stakeholders in Coca-Cola should be very interested.

Here is the final draft of my newsletter!
