Newsletter
This week in my PR publications class we were asked to begin to design a newsletter for a fortune 500 company. I chose Apply for its clean designs and modern style. I thought this would be something new to try from a design perspective.
To start our newsletter we were asked to create a dummy or mockup layout in InDesign. I started by looking up different examples of newsletters to get ideas. It was a little difficult to get back into InDesign but after a few minutes I had familiarized myself with the tools once again. I also went back and watched some of the tutorial videos for assistance on how to make columns, etc.
I think it is an advantage to create a mockup design so that you can easily make changes until you decide on a design that you like. You can also use this mockup for future newsletters the company will release so that they all follow a similar format.
