Newspaper Markup

The purpose of the newspaper markup assignment was to highlight the parts of a newspaper or newsletter. Personally, I learned about the different parts of a newspaper or newsletter that I had read before but never paid close attention to. I also learned that not all newspapers or newsletters have the same format.

The Oklahoman, the newspaper that I chose, did not use pull quotes throughout the paper. The quotes were integrated into the body text, and the person and their position were highlighted instead. The paper also lacked subheads.

Overall, I thought that the assignment was helpful and prepared me to begin work on newsletters.
