Newspaper Markup + Typesetting Assignment

Whew…what a week! It has been so awesome to dive into all this Adobe software finally!

This week we were asked to watch countless videos, mark up newspapers to learn different layout terminology, try out Adobe Photoshop and InDesign for ourselves. While it was a lot of fun (and very time consuming…), I am glad to be done with “Design Bootcamp”.

My reaction to everything was, at first, excitement. Excitement then turned to confusion and frustration from time to time…but then an overwhelming since of relief and sense of accomplishment rushed through me when I finally figured everything out. Warning: I do tend to be a tad overdramatic every now and then.

I think I may have reacted in these ways because, starting out, I thought mastering Adobe software would be a total piece of cake – but it was sort of confusing when I decided to just “jump ahead, because everything will turn out fine…right?” WRONG! I definitely backtracked quite a few times, but eventually got there!

All in all, this week’s accomplishments have got me feeling very…well, accomplished!
