Organizational Research: Moe’s Southwest Grill
For my PR Publications course, we are going to be using InDesign to create a business card and letterhead for an organization of our choice. I chose to design for Moe’s Southwest Grill, an organization I have personal experience with. At home in Indiana, I work for and cater for Moe’s. For this assignment, I will be analyzing the state of the current organization’s resources, processes, and values overall.
Moe’s Southwest Grill is a restaurant. It sells food products and provides a “fast-casual” dining experience for its customers. The company website provides the following mission statement:
“Plain and simple, the Moe’s Food Mission is to bring the highest-quality ingredients to every guest, every day, everywhere. Our food is freshly prepared in our restaurants daily. From no MSG to the lack of hormones added, steroids or preservatives, we’re always focused on the best possible option.”
The main competitors of Moe’s are other fast-casual burrito restaurants such as Qdoba and Chipotle. By number of locations, Chipotle dominates both Moe’s and Qdoba with 1,600+ restaurants in the United States. At this time, Qdoba has around 630 locations and Moe’s has around 550. Even fast-casual restaurants that serve completely different types of food, like Panda Express and Panera, provide some competition for Moe’s
Enthusiasm about the food and a welcoming, fun atmosphere are things that are very important to Moe’s. Also, freshness of ingredients is of utmost importance. Sustainability is one of the core values of Moe’s and Moe’s has taken several steps to promo sustainability with their restaurants.
From the company website, Moe’s Guiding Values are below:
- ACT WITH INTEGRITY
- ADD VALUE
- INFUSE PASSION
- PROVIDE LEADERSHIP
- THINK SUSTAINABILITY
- KNOW & SHARE THE BRAND
- BE YOURSELF
- GIVE BACK
- HAVE FUN
