Overcoming Obstacles
This post will detail my thoughts on the fifth chapter of the book Designing For Emotion.
I’m glad that this book is finally covering designs that aren’t just smiles and rainbows. I consider myself a skeptic, so I can see how designers would be aiming to influences someone like me to join their site. Especially after taking this class I can see how layout, color, typography and contrast influence opinions and how information is perceived through the site.
However, I did not like how the creator of mint focused more on a trustworthy design rather than security on his website. This make me uneasy. It’s a financial website. User security should be the priority! Everything else should be a second thought.
