Personal Profile

My name is Mackenzie Brim and I am a sophomore PR major at the University of Oklahoma.

I chose PR for the practical application, but my true passions are writing and visual art. That led me to the studio art minor program at OU, which has been so great to cultivate my creative passions alongside my academic pursuits.

While I am eager to get out of Oklahoma and explore the world, I have only ever lived in Oklahoma City and now Norman. Once I graduate, I want to move to a big city like New York or Houston and work as a writer and artist. I don’t really ever see myself working a real 9 to 5 job. I would much rather work freelance in the creative industries.

That being said, things such as design and aesthetic are important to my life as an artist as well as a PR student. The visual aspect is vital to successful PR strategy and campaigns. I think that the good design can enhance a message significantly as well as district from the message if it is not done well.
