Photoshop: The Best Worst Thing
For PR Pubs, we have started to draft direct mailers for our stake holders that we have defined.
1. How has your first stakeholder helped define your second stakeholder?
My first stakeholder has helped define my second because I need to have this next mailer as a supplement for the first direct mailer. My second stakeholder is the parent of my high school senior interested in philanthropy and finding a community at OU. I will create the direct mailer to show how OU will be their next home.
2. Has your design changed since the last draft? What influenced the changes?
My design has changed as I finally knew what I was looking for. This is by far the hardest design project. Photoshop has been challenging in itself and being comfortable with my design has been the most difficult part.
3. What similarities and differences have you found between Photoshop and InDesign?
I have found few similarities and MANY differences. The similarities are really just in the cosmetics in both applications. It is nice to have the familiar look, but both applications have many many differences. Photoshop is many different layers on top of each other while InDesign is one layer with many items laying next to each other, not on top. In InDesign, you are able to grab multiple items at once and move parts around seamlessly. In Photoshop, you have to individually click on the layer on the right or I found that if you hold command down, you are able to move any layer around without clicking back and forth. THIS WAS A LIFESAVER. I was so happy when I figured this out!
Overall, I have loved my Photoshop experience although Google and YouTube are my new best friends.
